June, 2008 Dear Brethren; Please receive our greetings and hope that our God is
richly blessing you. 1Thes 1:2. We thank our God for all his blessings and the
opportunity to serve Him. It is of great joy to share with you what is
happening in the ministry that our Lord Jesus Christ has allowed us to do. We visited Deaf in several different places such as
Limon, San Jose, Turrialba, etc., to invite them to attend camp. Thank God for
the nine Deaf that made their decision for Christ during the camp. That was a
blessing and we are happy since that is the specific purpose for which the camp
is held every year. We had a very joyful visit with a dear Pastor brother
from New York, our brother Steve Blann. It was a blessed time shared and the Deaf
learned so much and that is why we thank the Lord. We also thank the Lord for the visits to the Deaf in
April and May. They were invited to different activities, such as luncheons
after Sunday School, with the purpose of fellowship and to encourage them to attend
church. The majority did go to the camp. We have also had field trips and
meetings to motivate them because the ministry is different, and we constantly
pray so God can work in their hearts that they will have the commitment for spiritual
growth. We are very happy that last May we started a Signing
Class in one of the Churches in Siquírres where they have Deaf, but have not been
able to teach them for lack of knowledge of Sign Language. My wife and I are
going every two weeks, and we ask for your prayers because one of our purposes
is that every Baptist Church can have a Ministry for the Deaf and that the work
can be spread all over Costa Rica. The Church is anxious to learn, and that
motivates us to teach them with all our heart. We want to let you know that the trip we planned to
Cuba was not possible to do. We prayed for the Lord’s will to be done, to open
the doors and allow us to travel, but it was not His will and we are sure that
at any moment our Lord will open the doors and with His help and blessings we
will travel. Our Lord has been good and we appreciate His care over
us, because He helps us and keeps us as we visit. We are praying to make new
contacts with the Deaf that have never been to the camp or Church. We are
trusting that God will give us grace, since one of the obstacles is the
parent’s mistrust. Many of the parent’s of Deaf are really overprotective, and do
not want them to forget their traditions. We know that it is God’s work and we ask
you to support us in prayer. Thanksgivings for: -The Deaf
that made decisions for Christ at the camp -For the
health God gives us to do the work -For the
Lord’s care -For the
work made possible with the Deaf Prayers requests: -For the Spiritual
growth of the Deaf -For their
consistency attending Sunday School -For leaders
of the Deaf -For the new
prospects that we will be visiting so they can attend church -For a lap
top for the ministry -For God to
provide us a car We thank you for your support in prayers that are of
utmost importance because they keep us firm and strong to go on. Thank you also
for your financial support. May our Lord richly bless you! God bless you, Cristian and Cris Munoz Missionaries to the
Deaf. Heredia, Costa Rica John.14:6
