Doctrinal Statement Of Deaf Evangelism And Fellowship, Inc.
Deaf Evangelism And
Fellowship believes:
1. In the plenary (fully), verbal
(equally every word) inspiration of the Scriptures and their absolute
reliability and authority, without error, in the original manuscripts.
2. In one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons -
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - co-eternal in being, co-identical in
nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and
perfections.
3. In the virgin birth, atoning death, bodily
resurrection, and deity of Jesus Christ.
4. That man is a fallen
creature, sinful by nature and choice, can only become a child of God by
regeneration by a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. 5. That
salvation is by repentant faith in Christ as our substitute, on the merits
of His atoning death and shed blood.
6. In Christ’s premillennial
second coming (by which we mean the pretribulation rapture position, and
the imminent return of Christ).
7. In the eternal security and
full enjoyment of God’s presence for the saved, and in the eternal
punishment in Hell for the lost.
8. In the need for a personal
provision of power, by the Holy Spirit, who already lives in the body of
each Christian.
9. In the duty of each Christian to live a holy
life, to make soul winning the main end of all Christian work; that God’s
Great Commission never changes as the principal obligation of churches and
Christians.
10. In Baptism by immersion of the believer by the
authority of the local church, symbolizing the death and burial to the old
life of sin, and resurrection of the new life in Christ.
11. The
Lord’s Supper is an ordinance to be observed by the local church to
symbolize the Lord’s death until His second coming.
